Beautiful Abs with Pilates Exercise Videos

Monday, May 31st, 2010

Women with children have a tendency to care for their family’s needs and neglect their own, but it is quite possible to take care of both your family and yourself by using Pilates exercise videos. Pilates has been around for over 30 years because it really helps people create strong, healthy bodies without investing hours upon hours at the gym. With Pilates, you can enjoy all the summer sports you want to with your family in as little as 20 minutes a day.

The man who created Pilates (Joseph Pilates) understood that exercise was more than just moving the body, but it was incorporating breathing exercises along with exercise to create a workout that truly gave the entire body a complete workout. By creating a strong center (sometimes called your core) you are able to create a strong body without the need for heavy weights. There is no doubt about it, practicing Pilates regularly will create that “dancers body” – the one with sculpted abs and beautiful, toned curves.

Pilates primarily focuses on breathing, concentration, control, centering, precision and flow. Since breathing is a critical part of circulation, and circulation promoted healing and building strong, lean muscles, is just makes sense that breathing is the most important aspect of Pilates. Strengthening you’re core (or the center of your body) is the next most important aspect of any Pilates workout video, because the core stabilizes the entire body. And what mom doesn’t want and need a strong, and resilient body?

The other amazing benefit of Pilates is the fact that it helps our ability to focus when we are fatigued. Because lets face it, moms are constantly thinking and multi-tasking and having the ability to focus and concentrate when under pressure is a critical to having a good, even paced day.

Pilates is also a stress free workout, what that means is it is easy on the joints while at the same time toning and strengthening and stretching the muscles. Pilates is perfect for any woman of any fitness level that wants a stress free workout that can be done anytime, anywhere and doesn’t require any type of equipment.

If you are like many moms out there and are limited on resources and time, Pilates may just be the quick and effective workout option you have been looking for. Workout at home with Pilates by using exercise videos – go ahead and do it…cancel the gym membership that you never use! You don’t need it – just grab a few Pilates videos and you are set!

Monday, May 31st, 2010

Dr. J. Joseph Prendergast delivers a lifetime of medical experience to Synergy’s Medical Advisory Board. A graduate of Wayne State University, Dr Joseph Prendergast fulfilled a fellowship in endocrinology and metabolism at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit and established his residency at the University of California, San Francisco.

Dr Joseph Prendergast is board-certified in internal medicine as well as endocrinology and metabolism. He’s practiced as a physician for over 35 years and is a  renouned intellect in integrative arginine and devotedly believes in its capability to enhance health and is why since 1991, he’s been taking l-arginine in his medical practice . Dr Joe has medically examined over 5,000 of his patients, some for atleast 17 years and who have additional contingency risk of diabetes, and has not lost one of his patients from heart attack or stroke and he accredits this to his usage and protocols that include L-Arginine.

L-arginine is an essential amino acid that has been studied for more than 50 years. In 1998, three American scientists won the Noble Prize for the discovery of the role that arginine plays in the production of nitric oxide in the body. Nitric oxide dilates the blood vessels, helping them relax and restore elasticity. Arginine is also important in cell division, immunity, and the secretion of hormones.

We have now learned more about how arginine uses the two natural pathways into the brain to promote anti-aging properties, sports performance, and boost the immune system. Because arginine promotes healthy blood flow, it can also benefit human sexuality. We can’t ignore the power of arginine any longer and Synergy has the best Larginine product I have ever seen!”

Dr. Joe has recently published his first book, The Uncommon Doctor: Dr. Joe’s Rx for Managing Your Health, that reveals the secrets of preventive medicine and helps readers design a strategic wellness program that includes usage of ProArgi 9!

Science Shows That Meditation Is Useful

Monday, May 31st, 2010

For centuries, the benefits of meditation have been known in Eastern societies. As meditation has come to the West along with Eastern traditions like Yoga, there has been increasing attention from the scientific community on the potential health and lifestyle benefits of meditation

  • detachment
  • bliss
  • higher levels of energy and excitement
  • altered body image and ego boundaries
  • dreams
  • extrasensory experiences etc.

Kinds of meditation studied

Many types of meditation have been studied already, and uniformly, they all seem to show a range of benefits.

Transcendental meditation or TM is one of the widely researched meditation techniques.  One of the most widely researched meditation techniques in Transcendental Meditation, or TM, as it is widely known.  Over 200 scientific published studies show that this technique reduces stress, boosts learning ability and creativity, and improves brain functioning.

Zen meditation has also be the subject of various scientific studies. Beyond cataloging the benefits of mindfulness that comes from meditation, some of these studies explore questions such as whether the brain is hardwired for mystical experiences that are often reported from meditation practices.

Vipassana meditation, a technique that emerged in India 2500 years ago, has also been studied closely.  Some of these studies from reputed research institutions like Harvard, Yale and MIT have reported on how meditation can actually alter the structure of our brains.

Tibetan meditation is now increasingly studied by scientists through the ongoing work of the Dalai Lama with the scientific community.  The Mind and Life Institute catalogs these studies and their results.

A plethora of meditation techniques exist such as Osho Active Meditation, Sahaja Meditation, and various kinds of Buddhist Meditation.  All of these are also subject of various research studies, each showing something promising about the role and value of meditation in our lives.

Summary of Meditation Benefits

Science is only at the very early stage of examining meditation, but these early research studies are incredibly promising already.

Today, we are all exposed to tremendous levels of physical, mental and emotional stress due to the kind of life we live and the kind of world we live in.  It seems wonderful that meditation can bring us relief from stress and take us to a state of relaxation.  What is even more fascinating is that these early research studies on meditation have shown that meditation can result in improved physiological functioning, can positively impact the development of mental potential, improve our academic performance, enable us to in remaining healthy and contribute to prevention of disease, reverse the aging process, reduce our fears and anxiety, reduce drug and alcohol dependency and use, enhance our job performance and increase our job satisfaction, and even result in decreased urban crime and help create world peace.

Just like the modern world has steadily embraced Yoga for its many benefits, it may be time to embrace meditation for the myriad benefits that science is reporting about already.

From How to grow taller

Did you always want to be a little bit taller?  Here are some astonishing news for you! For the last 10 and more years of scientific research on this topic, it could be shown that the height of a person does Not entirely depend on his or her genetic setup, deriving from the parents.  In addition to this, science was able to demonstrate that a person’s genetic profile IS determining his or her height POTENTIALS, but most of the adults stopped using this potential and staying short about 2 to 6 inches of their individual potential.

This is meaning to say, that, if you did not manage to reach your individual height potential and stayed shorter than you wished, it will be nevertheless possible to add on to your present height by a couple of inches, in order to reach your true height potential.  This is not an illusion or a children’s fairy tale.

There are, as with most things, deceptive entertainings abounding, pertaining to becoming taller, such as miracle-medications and wonder-pills.  Nonetheless, there now exists a large foundation of technological data evidencing that, not only is it accomplishable to increase your height by 2 to 6 inches within a comparatively small period of time, but that these height-increasing plans are also beneficial to ones overall wellness and well-being.  The simplest and most productive of these setups pertain themselves with 4 major domains to be covered.  They are as follows:

1. DIET

Quantity and quality of our food is an important factor for making sure that we get hold of all most important nutrients, which our body is in need of, in order to maximize our potential.  These nutrients include minerals, vitamins, proteins, carbohydrates, fats, and water.

2. WORKOUT

Its critical, to fulfill your height potential, to perform regular exercises, which will strengthen your core group muscles, better your posture and increase the concentration of growth hormones your body creates.  There are also exercises projected especially to strengthen and enlarge the discs that part the vertebrae in our spinal columns, which will of course cause one to become taller.

3. POSTURE

Unfavorable posture can take out inches from ones potentiality in height and is frequent in our society.  Proper posture will not only increase ones height, but will make many other physical and psychological profits.

4. SLEEP HABITS

It has been observed that it is of relevance how you sleep, besides the question of when and how much to sleep.  Particular sleeping positions are favorable, some others are not.  Our bodies need quality sleep with sufficient REM phases in order to recharge energy and recover from straining efforts of the previous day.  Full recuperation is mandatory for the realization of our height potentials.

Is it accomplishable to increase your height by three or four inches, or more?  Yes, absolutely!  Does it call for the bother and expense of bone-breaking surgical procedures?  Definitely not!   Is it simple?  Pretty much.  Is it worth it?  You have to determine, and let me know, how it goes.
